History - Construction of the airport began in 1942 with modest ambitions. Only 1,000 acres (4 km²) of land on the site of Idlewild golf course were earmarked for use. The golf course provided the airport's original namesake, Idlewild Airport. First commercial flights began on July 1, 1948. The airport was formally dedicated as New York International Airport on July 31, 1948. It was re-dedicated on December 24, 1963 as John F. Kennedy International Airport, following action of the Mayor and Council of the City of New York, and a resolution of the Commissioners of the Port Authority. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

11hours layover in JFK
Hello, I have 11h layover in JFK (I come from San Diego and I fly to Barcelona, Spain). Do you think I have enough time to get the NY city to do a short visit and come back to the airport? what is the shortest and cheapest way to do so?

You should have time but be
You should have time but be sure to allow at least one hour travel time to/from JFK and arrive back at JFK at least 2-3 hours before international departure. Easiest and most direct to Manhattan is taxi; $45+tolls+tip each way. Cheapest is by public transportation; AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station and either subway or LIRR to Manhattan. AirTrain/subway is $7.25 each way and LIRR a bit more but faster.
Used ammunition?
I went to a gun range in the U.S and I would like to bring home some of the used shells as a souvenir. Just the empty cartridges no live ammunition.
Am I allowed to bring it? Is there certain precautions that I should take? I'm flying to Denmark where i live.

Taxi can only take 4 persons
Taxi can only take 4 persons maximum so you will need a larger vehicle which can be arranged at the Ground Transportation counter when you arrive.
Terminal Help
I am traveling to Ireland on 12/23 with my 2 year old and want to be prepared as possible. We are flying on Delta and I am not sure what terminal we need to be dropped off at,please help. Also is there anything to do with a 2 yearold in the airport
Just follow the signs when
Just follow the signs when you enter the airport area-Delta is terminal 2/3 which are connected post security. Double-check your itinerary for departure terminal. Bring lots of kids toys/games as they're not much to do other than look out the window at the planes.

Hi, we will be on Transit from Mexico, catching the flight back to India the day after .So i am supposed to overnight in the ariport .Is there any hotel inside jfk international terminal.If we are on transit can we leave the airport and coming back the day after.In this case do we need to fill up all the immigration documents again.Thanks in advance.

Will pick elderly parents on the 10th. Estimated plane arrival is 2030hrs. Got a stopover in Achorage Alaska prior to JFK airport touchdown.
