Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

Are baggage carts readily available at T-7 baggage claim? What is the procedure for renting one - cash or credit card? I'll have 3 full sized bags plus carry ons to get to T-4.

I'm leaving tomorrow to Southamerica, but the plane will stop at miami. Do we need to be two or three hours before at the airport?

I'll be stuck at JFK from 8pm to 10am the next day, do you know if it is possible to unpack and smoke a hookah (the hookah itself is perfectly legal) at the airport? Is there a designated smoking section?

Smoking outside of the terminal only. You'll have to exit terminal and re-enter through security...with your hookah!

if im tourist how can i get my tax back i want to know if is posible.

Hello I Just wanted to know if someone picking up an arriving passenger, can that person go to the arriving gate to meet them without a olane ticket.

Thanks

we are thinking about booking with jetblue in march from buffalo with a connecting flight to Turks and Caicos with them also, would 2 hours be enough time for the connection

Two hours should be sufficient.

Hi, Will I be able to find a coin - operated payphone at JFK or is it only credit card phones? How much does a local call (to Queens) cost? Also, if I have to call a number that is 800-xxx-xxxx, does that mean that it is a free call number, or is 800 an area code in Queens?

Thanks for you help!

In this era of cell phones most, if not all of the pay phones are gone. Check at one of the information desks when you arrive for available public phones. 800 is a toll free number.

I will arrive 21:30 Dec 11, at JFK from London England by American Airlines AA107, with ESTA document from US Dept of Homeland Security, en-route to St Lucia. Bags should be checked through to St L.

1/ Any idea which terminal I arrive at?

My flight out AA2009 is 07:20 Dec 12. Almost 10 hours later.

2/ will it be from the same terminal?

3/ is there a lounge that I can pay to use? or any chill out ideas?

. . grateful for any advice. . . thanks
alec

how to i best travel from jfk aiport to sheraton besides taking taxi?

I will arrive at JFK at midnight then go to Edison, NJ. Please any one could advise, if it is easy and safe to take cab and how much it will cost, many thanks

Taxi to Edison will cost around $100+. You can take Amtrak from Penn Station to Metropark which is the closest Amtrak station to Edison or NJ Transit to Edison, although late night service is infrequent on both train lines. Options for getting to Penn Station at that hour are taxi ($45+tolls+tip), or AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station ($5) and LIRR ($5.50) to Penn Station. The E subway ($2.25) from Jamaica also stops at Penn Station but opt for LIRR at that hour instead.
