After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

I have a flight scheduled for next tuesday 1/18 at 4:30pm. How early should I arrive to JFK to allow time for security checks, etc?

At least 2 hours before your actual flight. Give yourself an extra hour if the weather is bad.

I arrive at JFK early in the morning and have another flight at night with Swiss back to Zurich. How far in advance of a flight can I check in luggage? I'd like to not have to tote my stuff around all day, as I'll be going into the city during the day before the night flight.

You can check in your luggage as soon as check in counter opens.

I'll be arriving in jfk on a red eye from LA. Is there any place to take a shower at the airport?

Hi, My delta flight has been delayed from Syracuse to JFK my new arrival time is 7:23PM and I have to catch a flight from terminal 7 at 8:00PM ...How can I do this? Thanks for any help or info.

Is there a nursing room at jfk? I am traveling with an infant and will need to nurse or pump.

No, there is none at JFK.

Dear Attendant!
My daughter is arriving with AF10 from Paris and arriving to JFK at about 6:40 to JFK. What is the situation, how they will arrive in this snow?

I am receiving a puppy from Missouri. Where do I pick it up and where should I park?

Good day from Greece,

My daughter arrived in JFK on 19th of Decemeber. She is a minor, 5,5 years old and she was travelling with my sister. While at the immigration services my sister was told that she should have my written permission to accompany my daughter. The officer entered a relative comment on the computer, but they were allowed to pass. My question is, if they don't have a written permission on their way back is there a possibility to have a problem exiting the country?

Thank you very much for your kind attention...and have a great holiday.

They shouldnt have a problem exiting this country.

Last Dec, 23rd, I've been at this airport to take my flight back to Brazil.
We've passed through the 'screening process' which I approve. However, I was surprise when I went for a quick snack before boarding: the juice I've chosen was sold in a glass bottle, which I easily could have taken with me to the cockpit.
How about the security? We can not take any perfume, cream.....
Is there an explanation?

Thank you for the opportunity.

All the items you buy or carry on you have to go through screening security procedure.
