my mom is coming from AIR India to JFK terminal 4 at 7:25 AM. She has connecting flight to boston with AA at 12:45 PM. After claiming bags at terminal 4, would she have to carry bags to terminal 8 on airtrain to checkin or can she checkin at terminal 4 ?

My father will be flying on 29 May from Norfolk, VA on American Airlines flight 4324 arriving at JFK terminal 8 at 4:20 pm. He has a connecting flight with Air Berlin (AB 7249) leaving the same day to Berlin at 5:30 pm. Will he have enough time to make his connecting flight if the AA flight arrives on time?

I am arriving from London at 7:55 PM and I am leaving for Argentina at 10:15 PM both with American Airlines, is this enough time for the transfer? Thanks for any help

On Saturday I will arrive in JFK Terminal 8 at 1pm. I will have 1.50 hours for changing to an internal flight to Miami also on terminal 8.
I am aware that I have to clear the customs and check in again.
Question: Is there a way or tip of how not to queue for too long. Is there some transit lane or someone who could guide us through quicker ? Also is there a tip for checking in again. Some luggage drop counter ?

I´ll fly with AA from Miami to JFK, my friend will arrive same day from Guayaquil to JFK on Lan, almost at the same time.
We want to meet at the airport.

1. Could you tell me which terminal is for each flight (AA/LAN) I belive that both flights arrives al terminal 8.
2. Are there two arrivals at terminal 8, one for national flights and another for internacional flights?
3. Which one could be a good point to meet with my friend?

my wife and our dog is coming from Helsinki to JFK next Friday. They have 4,5 hours changing time for the next flight to LAX with AA. So arrival and departure is in Terminal 8. As the change time is over 4 hours, she will request our dog to be brought to the desk there (which should be possible in JFK) to be able to go to the pet area in Terminal 8 before the flight to Los Angeles.

My questions are:
- is it so that the baggage customs has to be cleared first (before taking our dog out temporarely)
- what kind of process it is to get the baggage to the next flight? I was told from Finnair that the baggage line and customs line should be pretty close each other (just put the baggage from one line to another). Is it so?
- could you give more detailed information where is the desk she can get our dog and then return it back for the flight to LAX?

When changing from an incoming international flight to an outgoing internal flight at Terminal 8 does the change happen within the terminal, or do i have to go out through security and back in again?

I'm changing at terminal 8 from a flight from London to a flight to Puerto Rico.

I take it the latter flight is considered "internal"? And do I need to come out through security and go back in again?

I lost a black Matt and Nat brand wallet at JFK Terminal 8, I think near the Air Berlin Gate. I was leaving NYC for Berlin, Germany. What should I do to find it? Is there a specific number to call or place to go when I arrive back in the United States?

I have bought tickets for my daughter from Helsinki to Los Angeles on 25th october. The flight is Finnairs flight from Helsinki to JFK at 15:50 and American Airlines at 19:15 to Los Angeles.
WE are looking carefully the route and what to do on JFK, so I would like to know which is the gate where Finnair usually arrives and the AA to Los Angeles leaves?
We have also got two different information how to operate with luggages on JFK. Does the luggages go straight to Los Angeles from Helsinki or does she have to move them by herselves to Los Angeles plane on JFK?

I arrive JFK T4 from Dubai and will connect directly to AA flight to Toronto at T8. I am not entering the USA as such, will be carrying only handbags and will most likely be prechecked with a boarding pass for the AA flight. Do I still need to clear US Immigration as I am really transiting to another country. If I must clear immigration, is there a fast track for international to international flights. I hold a Canadian passport.

I was wondering if someone could give me information on the following: I am arriving at JFK at 5:10pm and have a connecting flight at 8:20pm to Toronto but the flight to YYZ is standby, so my baggage probably won't be checked through. Will I have enough time to get my luggage and catch my connecting flight? I will arrive from Europe to the terminal 8 (Finnair, Helsinki) and my domestic connection flight (AA, San Francisco) will departure from the same terminal 2h 15min later. Is that enough? What is the minimum connection time inside the terminal 8? I'm EU citizen.

Im arriving in jfk on aa199 on oct 17 at 13.40 and I should board on aa1813 to orlando at 14.55. As there is only one hour to do immigration and customs fomalities and board the other flight, I would like to know if a speed transfer exist provided by the airport or american airlines. My mother arrives on 8/06 7:40 am on LAN CHILE flight LA532. I just found out that this airline does not longer operates from terminal 4 (as listed in your website) but terminal 8 and I am not familiar with this terminal. I will be picking her up with my small children and I need help figuring out the best way to coordinate. My family will be arriving in JFK via BA at 10:30 pm from London. Their final destination is SFO and they are ticketed all the way to SFO. They have a 12 hour layover before their domestic flight on AA to SFO. They have reserved a hotel room near the airport prior to their flight to SFO.

Would they need to clear customs at JFK and then recheck in bags at the AA counter for their flight to SFO? Or could they checkin their bags all the way to SFO and avoid lugging them to the hotel for a few hours?

If they have to claim baggage and clear customs at JFK is there a possibility to check their bags into their AA flight prior to leaving the airport for the hotel?

Can you advise on the best option so they can travel conveniently?
