The only shuttle that goes between JFK and Penn Station is New York Airport Service Express Bus and it costs $15 one way.

I just wonder if somebody can help me to find the cheapast way to travel between JFK airport to Newark airport.I,m coming from Sweden and will continue my journy to Montana.

The cheapest way is to get public transportation.
Take Airtrain from JFK to Jamaica Station, then subway line E to Penn Station in Manhattan; At Penn Station take Amtrak to Newark Airport.

How late is the Ground Transportation Service desk open? I will be arriving at JFK airport around 9:45pm and will need a shuttle to my residence destination.

It depends on the Terminal. Terminal 4 GTS desk is open 24 hours, Terminal 7 closes at 22:00, Terminals 5 and 8 close at 23:00, Terminals 1 and 3 - 21:00 and Terminal 2 - midnight. Those are the times that GTS desks are staffed until. A passenger can ALWAYS use the self-service phones, located next to GTS desk to call for a shuttle.

There are two shuttles that can get you there - Super Shuttle and AirLink. While I doubt they will be working that late you can still check yourself . Once you arrive, look for Ground Transportation Counter(or Welcome Center) and find self-service phones in there. Dial 29 for Super Shuttle or 18 for AirLink. While the shuttle service will cost you $18-$25, the Yellow cab(at flat cost of $50) is another option. There is taxi stand in front of each terminal where a taxi dispatcher will assist you getting yellow cab.

Do u know of a place to store luggage while shopping downtown Manhatten? We are flying to to JFK and getting on a cruise in NY, but our flight is early so we wanted to spend some time shopping in downtown manhatten b/f getting on the ship. Also, what would be the best way to get from JFK to Manahatten to the port in NY? Take the shuttle to both places?

There is shuttle from JFK to all the hotels in Manhattan. Once you arrive at JFK look for Ground transportation Counter(or Welcome Center) and speak to the folks there - they will book you the shuttle. If I am not mistaken the shuttle costs around $20 one way per person.

If your Port is located in Manhattan the fare will be flat of $45 plus $5 toll on YELLOW cab. If your port is in Brooklyn or New Jersey, the fare will be on the meter.

As far as I know there is one company that might go there - State Shuttle(serving Newark Airport). For more info look for Ground Transportation Desk(or Welcome Center) at each terminal - the folks there will give you all info.

NYC has no smog..just stench LOL That would be a lot and you could miss your flight. JFK is in Queens and has the same stench and great restaurants!! Play it safe and stay nearby.

I am in search of a passenger holding a ticket from India to JKF New York and an onward journey by American Airlines to Houstan. He arrived New York on 18th at 12.25 and was to board AA to Houstan but unfortunately he has not been able to board the onward flight and there are no clues for his missing at JFK terminal 8. AA has confirmed he has not arrived their counter.

We want to stay in NYC...at the salisbury hotel.
its located on 123 n. 57th street.
or is there a better place to stay? but not overprice or in to much of a shaddy neighborhood.
i'm going with my aunt ... its her 1st time
i want to show her the night life after we arrive at the hotel.

If money is no issue: Get a cab. If you need reliable transport: Use JFK AirTrain, leave at "Jamaica Station" and take the LIRR to downtown Manhattan/Pennsylvania Station. From there, take a cab.
Back in 2007 I arrived right on that date, when some steam pipe went off in downtown Manhattan. Whole Downtown seemed to be one single, giant traffic jam. The train ride took less than 30 minutes. The cab for the last 1.5 miles from station to hotel almost an hour ..

The PATH is easy and the best way to go, you'll only need to buy Quickcards which are available from machines at the station... Where you're staying (the Hyatt at Exchange Place stop) you'll want to take the WTC line. It's quick, easy and one stop away! Fare costs $1.75 per trip but you'll need to 'fill up' with more trips of course. You save a little by buying in "bulk" for a 10 trip where you get one ride free, but if you're staying awhile, i recommend just buying a weekly unlimited for each rider. Info about the Quickcard is here: http://www.panynj.gov/path/fares.html

Note the PATH Quickcard isn't valid for use in the NYC subway (unfortunately they haven't synced up the two systems yet) but you can use the NYC Metrocard (except for unlimited cards) for the PATH system. Quirky using two diff cards but no worries.

While in the city do enjoy places we locals love: have excellent pizza at Arturo's on Houston st. (the 'fiesta' is amazing w/bottle of house red wine), check out unique shops on Greenwich ave in the West Village, try a 'spicy' hot chocolate from the Chocolate Bar (8th ave @Jane st), grab a delicious lunch from the Dirty Bird (14th st near 7th ave) and a must see is the Chelsea Market (truly amazing place!) and then the nearby High Line. Tourists flock to the typical places but only end up seeing other tourists (giggle). Have fun, enjoy walking & go exploring a bit!

-Assume it will take you 1-1.5 hours by public transportation into Manhattan. (20 minutes Airtrain and the subway depends on the time of day.)
-The best way is the Airtrain towards Jamaica then the E Train to 42nd Street (Times Square). That is near the Empire State Building as well.
