you can not get a gate pass in this case, let them exit the sterile area(in the baggage claim for example), then they always can return back.

I am traveling PBI to JFK via jet blue and then to Singapore Airline. I will have 6h to transfer but 6 bags and two small children. Is there a service to help transfer my bags from the terminal to terminal. A porter who can get my bags and myself on and off the air train?

You may always politely ask them for some help and in case they do help you dont forget to leave them a nice tip for handling your luggage.

Usually the porters(skycaps) are not allowed to go between terminals, but I have seen them doing that, so give it a chance and ask one of them.

I'll take the jetblue fight at 6:30 AM. So I want to arrive at terminal 5 during the night. Can I stay at terminal 5 during the night? Is the air train still running during the night?
thanks!

Unfortunately the only terminal that is open 24/7 is terminal 4 and thats where you can stay overnight. Terminal 4 has coffee and snack shops available. From my work experience air trains are running 24/7 so first thing in the morning you can take an air train on any track and follow the signs to transfer to terminal 5. It should be a very short ride around 2 minutes or so.

See how this "Specialist" is contradicting himself? Read couple of lines down where the individual mentioned that" Terminal 5 is closed overnight so are air trains".Now, is the airtrain closed overnight or open 24/7?
For everybody out there the right answer(like somebody mentioned it) is that the Airtrain is working non stop.

Poor worked up MS/MS. You are criticizing JFK_Specialist when you are the one on the couple previous pages giving conflicting advices to nice passengers and have been criticized as well. You are a piece of work!

is there a private club at T5 where you can pay to hang for 3-4 hours?

Air trains are open 6AM-10PM Mon-Sun.

Only terminal that is open 24/7 is terminal 4. Terminal 5 is closed overnight so are air trains.

Get the facts together,JFK_Specialist_... Airtrain is running 24/7, not "closed overnight".

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey mulling JFK Saarinen terminal hotel
February 8, 2011

The historic Trans World Airlines terminal designed by Eero Saarinen at New York-JFK may become the central component of a new boutique hotel, according to news reports.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates JFK, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty and Stewart Newburgh airports, is looking for developers to “turn the vacant TWA Flight Center into the centerpiece of a small, high-end hotel that would allow the agency to reopen the terminal and recoup some of the money it spent restoring it,” USA Today reported.

The Associated Press reported that while no timeline was given, the interior of the terminal space would serve as an entry way and lobby for the hotel with restaurants and shops.

Dear JFK Guru's,
I have an elderly pax arriving on Jet Blue in T5 at 8:30 pm . She is connecting to a Cathay flight at 1:20 AM in Biz in T7. I assume she will have to pick up her bags and carry them over to Cathay. How will she navigate from the Jet Blue gate to baggage claim to T7 ? Is it alot of work and how much time will it take. I also have the option of booking them on United that will arrive at 11:02 PM. Thank you !

She has plenty of time to connect. If she is coming on a domestic flight and leaving U.S on international flight she doesnt have to clear Customs. JetBlue and Cathay Pacific dont have a luggage agreement so she has to pick up the bags herself and recheck them with Cathay Pacific at terminal 7. Use air train to transfer between terminal 5 and 7. She can take her bags on the train.
