Taxi(yellow cab only) will charge you flat fare of $50.50 to any point in Manhattan . The fare is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.

Hello. I´ll be arriving at with LAN at JFK T4 on May 31st at 8:35am. I have a connecting flight from T7 about 12 hours later. Do I have enough time to go sightseeing or shopping in Manhattan? How much is a taxi ride to Manhattan from JFK and how long does it take to get there? Or will I be better off waiting at the airport while waiting for my connection?

You will be tight for time but can certainly get to Manhattan and back. The quickest way is to take the Air Train from terminal 4 to Jamica station and then connect to the E subway line from which you can exit in midtown Manhattan. Buy a metro card which is good for both and you can do the whole round trip for around $15 US. Total time about 75 mins one way which is faster and more reliable than a cab. Make sure that you have enough time to reclear security which can take up to one hour during peak times. Suggest that you arrive at JFK 2 hours before your outbound flight.

Hello,

I'm arriving on JFK on 7th June around 14:30 pm with 3 adults. We stay at West 57th Street New York City. Can anyone advise which transportation is available.
I'm thinking of a shuttlebus or a taxi, but don't know which one is most advisable and for which costs.
Can anyone advise.
Thx

Can you tell us where at west 57th street are you going exactly? Full address or cross street would be helpful.

We are staying at the Holliday Inn at 440 west 67th street.
Hope this will help
Thanks

Hello, it's me again.Yesterday you gave me very useful information about public transport to the NJ side of the Holland Tunnel. Would you be so kind and tell me how much would be the yellow cab costs for the destination. We are tree adult's with luggage.
Thank's for the answer in advance.

Yellow cab from JFK to that place will run on the meter - expect ~$70.
You can take advantage of the flat fare($50.50) that the yellow cabs have to Manhattan(only) and take it to either PATH station at WTC or PATH station at 33th street(close to Penn). From there take PATH to Pavonia/Newport.

Hi
Arriving at JFK on 9 Aug - 5 adults with luggage
What is best way to get to our hotel - was thinking of taxi but not sure how many people they take and whether we should pre book ? Thanks

Go to Ground Transportation(Welcome Center) counter and locate self-service phones. Dial the numbers for either "Carmel" or "Dial 7" - those are private cars that can accommodate 5 adults and they charge flat fare to the city(~$50-$60 for the whole taxi).

Hello,
I flew into JFK last Friday 5/21/10 and took a taxi from the airport out to Levittown, Long Island. The driver was very nice but when we were packing the taxi we realized that my 2 year old son's stroller would not fit in the back so the driver told us we could leave it up front in the passenger seat. To make a long story short, he left with the stroller (purely accidental). I didnt realize it was missing until tonight (2 days later). Any advice on the steps I can take or a number to call to retrieve it? I dont have the taxi number or the drivers madallion number. Please help.

If you got on yellow cab file a report at

Hope it helps.

Hi 3 of us Adults are arriving at jfk at 18:20 on a Friday night. how long does it take to get out of the airport and get a taxi? I.e. through customs etc.
We are travelling to the Hilton, 55 church st in the financial district. How long will this take and how much will it cost by taxi?
Would you recommend taking a taxi or subway? We will have 3 Suitcases

To clear customs take somewhere between 30min to 1 hr. If you have baggage I will recommend you to take yellow cab - it will cost you flat fare of $50.50 and the travel time will be ~40 min.
