Nothing direct to East Village from JFK other than taxi which will cost $45+tolls+tip. You can get there from JFK via AirTrain and subway but since it's your first visit to NYC I'd stick with a taxi from the airport, but please do use public transportation to get around the city.

I will be arriving into JFK on April the 9th and wonder how to transfer to Huntington Station and Long Island MacArthur Airport. Please advise. Best regards Holger

Take AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station and transfer there to LIRR. You can take LIRR to Huntington (also serves Huntington Station area) and to Ronkonkoma where there's a shuttle bus to MacArthur Airport which is located 1.5 miles from the train station. LIRR has a special MacArthur Airport off-peak package fare which includes the $5 cost of the shuttle bus.

I have to go to Salem,Newhamshire.I known I have to go to boston and then take a bus to salem, but I don't known how to get to boston and how far from Ny to Boston. I have to arrive salem before April 15. And now I have flight to new york on April 14 from Thailand.

You can take either Megabus or Boltbus to Boston from outside of Penn Station, or Amtrak train from Penn Station, bus is cheaper than train. Boston is about 4 hours by bus or train. To get to Penn Station from JFK take AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station and transfer to LIRR or E subway to Penn Station.

My bus arrives at Port Authority around 9PM, and my flight leaves from JFK at 8AM the next morning. I'd rather not spring for a hotel, but I've heard mixed reviews about sleeping at JFK. Is it safe for me and my friend- two women in our 30s- to sleep overnight in JFK?
Or is it absolutely worth the extra 150 bucks and the headache of public transit to get a hotel for those few hours of sleep? I just feel like it would be really difficult to find a safe, inexpensive, and accessible hotel, and easier to sleep in the airport. What do you think?
Thanks

You would need to be at the airport around two hours prior to departure anyway so you might be better off going straight to the airport and crash at terminal 4 with a bunch of your fellow travelers, which is the only terminal open 24 hours. You can take E subway from Port Authority to Sutphin Blvd/JFK and transfer to AirTrain to terminal 4. AirTrain is free between terminals when you're ready to head to your flight.

We are a group of 9 people, wich form of transportation is the best? : from JFK Terminal 1 - to Queens Bvd./ Long Island... Thank you for answer.

ask at the welcome center for a private van

i am arriving jfk airport on august 31th 2011.arrival time 16:55 pm, i am alone and i have to go to hudson hotel,365west /58th streets ,new york.what are the travel options available to me? where are the stations of those transportation(taxi, bus ect')pls also help me with the price ,taxes thank you very much

Taxi, located at Ground Transportation area in terminal, will cost $45+tolls+tip. AirTrain/subway will cost $7.25; take AirTrain from terminal on track 1 to Howard Beach Station, transfer to inbound A subway to 59th St/Columbus Circle. Walk one short block south on 8th Ave. to 58th St. and turn right to hotel.

My husband is arriving in JFK at about 11pm (international flight) and is taking the first flight home from LaGuardia. What is the best way to get to LaGuardia from JFK at this hour? The usual express bus is not running after 8pm. Thank you for your advice.

Taxi is the only way at that hour.

I am arriving JFK airport on 4th may 2011 with my husband and 2 kids of 8yrs and 11yrs. We will have about 4 big luggage cases and 2 bagpacks. We have to go to new jersy from the JFK airport, what are the travel options available to us? Pls also help us with the price.

Taxi would be the best bet for the four of you. Your fare will be on the meter so price will depend where in NJ you are going, plus any tolls.
