In a previous posts I saw that airlines should have an agreement for luggage. I come from NM to NY with Delta and than Air France...Should I take my luggage for the second flight .
Thank you in advance!

JFK_Employee

Double check that with Delta in NM but they are partners in SkyTeam, so Delta should check your bags all the way through.

Dear Sir/Madame

I'm flying to New York on 11/9/2010. I suppose there are always cabs ready to take you to the heart of the city. But are there also immediately limousines available? Or do you have to book them?

Thanks in advance!

With kind regards

Hi I'm flying to JFK on friday around 4pm (estimated arrival time) with JteBlue from San Juan, Puerto Rico and my fiancé is also flying to meet me in JFK from London Heathrow with British Airways. Is their any chance that either of out flights be cancelled. Could theire be a chance to re route in worst case?

When should I contact the airline if so?

Thank you!

BG (not verified)

The FAA has said to expect airline delays due to the storm, but certainly check with your airline before you head to the airport for the status of your flight.

I have a choice of airport lounges through my credit card. I can use the lounge in Terminal 1 and 4 at JFK. I am flying domestic out of T 9 on AA to Tampa. Will I be able to use either of those lounges or are they on the wrong side of international check -in?

we are arriving on BA001 from LONDON tomorrow afternoon (Thursday). is there any disruption planned with rregards to Hurricane Earl in NY tomorrow??

BG (not verified)

Check with your airline, but you should be ok for Thursday arrival. Current forecast puts the storm near Northeast coast on Friday.

Hello,

I plan on traveling from New York to London in November. I have a box that is 60 inches high, 52 inches wide and 15 inches deep, and weights 50 pounds. Inside it, there are two paintings framed in plastic. I would like to know if I'll be able to take this with me on the plane. I am flying Virgin Atlantic, will be flying from JFK, and they told me it's up to the airport.

Thanks a lot,

Daniel

If it will not fit in the overhead (and probably won't) then it must be checked. Ask the agent at check-in.

I leave Dublin on Saturday morning, to arrive in JFK on Saturday afternoon at 2:50pm.

Hurricane Earl's projected path puts it just east of New York & New England on the Saturday morning.

Will flights be changed/cancelled?

How do I find more info on any of these arrangements?

JFK_Employee

It is early to answer this question. It is best to ask the airline for possible cancelations.

The time window is enough.

How far is it from the JFK airport to the Statue of Liberty? I have a 5 hour layover. Could I go and see the Statue of Liberty in that amount of time? Thanks!

BG (not verified)

Definitely not enough time. It will take you at least one hour to get to the ferry terminal, another one hour to wait in line, clear security and board, 30 minutes on the ferry to the Statue, at least one hour at the Statue, 45 minutes on the ferry back to lower Manhattan (stops at Ellis Island on the way back), at least another hour back to JFK. That's over five hours not including the two hours in advance you need to be back at the airport for check-in/security. Sorry to disappoint you!

Brooklynite 718 (not verified)

To just see it? Might cost you a bit in taxi fare, but take a cab to Brooklyn Bridge park (about half an hour each way) sit on the grass, have a hot dog and look out across lower Manhattan at the statue for as long as you see fit.

BG (not verified)

I'm with you! The Promenade in the Heights is also a nice place to check out the sights. Cab is good but cheaper alternative you can take the Airtrain to Howard Beach Station and take the A subway to Jay St/Borough Hall and walk down Montague St. to the Promenade or get off next stop High St/Bklyn Br and walk up Old Fulton St. to the park entrance. Grab a cone at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory or a great pizza at Grimaldi's.

What is the best way to get from the JetBlue terminal 5 to Terminal 4 for a SAA international flight?

BG (not verified)

Take Airtrain on track 2 one stop from T5 to T4.

hi, I'm landing in terminal 8 from cancun at 21:25 and i have another flight to israel from terminal 4 at 23:50. is it enough time to get there. what is the best way to get from terminal 8 to 4? thank you

JFK_Employee

You should be fine - take Airtrain on track 2 from T8 to T4. That would be the fastest way between T8 and T4.

Hi,
my friend s mother coming to visit from Morocco, flying royal air maroc, she has connections to Chicago Ohare with Delta,do you know which Terminal Delta will be flying out of to Chicago Ohare ? and if there is anybody who will help her getting to Delta terminal, she never been to US before, she doesnt speak english.
Thank you

JFK_Employee

Once she arrives at T1 from Morocco(and goes through immigration and customs) let her exit the building and walk to her right . Next building is 3 mins walking distance away, Terminal 2(Delta) - she can check-in for her flight there, go through security and look for her gate for the flight to Chicago. Even the flight leaves out of T3 , both terminals are connected and she can show her boarding pass to any employee who will guide her to the right gate.

Can you tell me if I'll be able to wait in the baggage claim area for about 3 hours after my flight for my cruise line transfer with Cunard?

Is there a place to sit down, benches or a restaurant?

Hello, my son will fly from Washington DC to JFK arriving at T3 at 19.30 hrs he then needs to catch his flight to London from T4 at 22.30 hrs. He will have luggage with him. Will he have enough time to check-in his luggage and clear customs?
Flight DC to JFK is with Delta and JFK to London is with Virgin.

JFK_Employee

Let him check with Delta at DC if they will check his bags all the way through London - this way he does not have to wait and deal with them at JFK.
He does not need to clear customs when he leaves USA.
The time frame that he has is plenty(even Delta does not check his bags through).

Question: how do I get off a delta flight from Rochester NY at 1:15 pm and get on a finnair flight. Is it terminal 2 to terminal 8? And how do I get from one to the other? Thanks!

JFK_Employee

You will be landing either at T3 or T2. Take Airtrain across the street from T3(or T2) on track 2 and get off the second stop(T8).It is ride less than 2 mins.

Hello, I am scheduled to fly out on Delta to Vegas on Monday. My Delta itinerary says to check in at terminal 2 but the flight leaves out of gate 27 which is terminal 2. Is the walkway from T-3 to T2 post security? or will i need to go through security again? just curious.
Thanks

My flight arrives from outside USA at JFK on Ettiha Airlines at 4:30 pm. My connecting flight on Delta leaves at 6:20 pm. Will I have enough time to make this connection?

bms0529

you might not have time if the crack customs staff continues in the fashion under which it was operating at 2-3PM today. we had to stand in line for close to a half an hour waiting to get into line at customs - we missed our connection but were "fortunate" as it was only a five hour wait for the next flight. have travelled internationally for 27 years and have never seen customs as inefficient as jfk. you jfk FAN - please don't waste your time responding to this with names of less efficient airports - am not interested.

My flight arrives at JFK on JetBlue at 7:23am. My connecting flight on JetBlue leaves at 8:05am. Will I have enough time to make this connection?

JFK_Employee

It depends on what is your incoming Jet Blue flight. If it is international - it would be impossible to make it. Domestic is different story - no need to change terminals, no need to clear security again.

looking for a shuttle from JFK to Newark Airport on 26th at 10pm. somebody an idea?

BG (not verified)

Check at the Ground Transportation counter when you arrive. There is shuttle service (State Shuttle) between JFK and EWR, not sure how late they operate.

Nancy

We will arrive on Delta in terminal 3 and connect to South African Airways flight in terminal 4. My understanding is that we can take a shuttle from Gate 11 in Term3 to Gate B23 in Term 4. 1) Does that mean we will NOT have to go through security again?

We will check our bags through on Delta which has a code-sharing arrangement with SAA. 2) Will SAA make us check in for the international flight in term 4?

In other words, we are worried about the connection time - getting from Term 3 to term 4 and whether we need to check in and go through security again?

Thanks!

JFK_Employee

Check again with Delta when you arrive, but to my understanding , you can take advantage of the shuttle only if you have connecting Delta flight at T4.

I am flying from Hong Kong HKG to New York JFK by Cathy Pacific Airlines in terminal 7 and have a connecting flight to Orlando MCO by American Airlines in terminal 8. I understand that I have to clear customs & immigration at JFK. Can I drop my luggage at “Cathy Pacific connecting flights counter” or I need to carry them along the way to terminal 8? Where the connecting flights counter locate? How can I take Airtrain from T7 to T8? Do I need to leave Terminal 7 and walk a long way to Airtrain? How many tracks on Airtrain? Airtrain is travelling clock wisely (T7 to T5 to … to T1 to T8) or anti-clock wisely (T7 to T8)? Any airline club inside T7 and T8?

JFK_Employee

You can either re-check your bags with CX connecting flights counter at T7 or with AA at T8.
CX connecting flights counter is located right after you exit the customs(on your right-hand side).
For the Airtain you have to exit T7, cross the two streets and take elevator to the third floor. There take Airtrain on track one - next stop is T8. On that track the Airtrain is traveling counter clockwise. AA advantage club is at T8.
