My mom is coming from Europe
Dear JFK Specialist,
My mom is coming from Europe to Terminal 8. She doesn't speak English. After she goes through immigration, claims her bags and goes through customs she has to re-check her baggage for connecting flight from terminal 8. How far from customs the re-check area is? Is the procedure exactly as by check-in or she just drops the bags somewhere?

My parents are coming from
My parents are coming from India on oct 4 via jet airways. They arrive at terminal 8 at 12.15 pm. Then they have to catch a american airlines flight to Dallas at 3.35 pm. I have 2 questions.
1. Will the time be sufficient?
2. Should they checkout and re checking their baggage in JFK? Is it possible to checking the baggage from India to Dallas directly?

We arrive on American Eagle flight at 3:42 p.m., then depart 6 p.m. on Jet Airways fight to Brussels. Both airlines use Terminal 8, correct? Is this enough time to pick up checked baggage, then check in with Jet Airways? Or should we consider earlier flight to JFK?

My mother is connecting in jfk terminal 8 and has a wait of 4 hours until her next flight. would she be allowed to leave the airport and see me during this time or is she not allowed to leave the gate area for the whole 4 hours?

Travelling with Pets.
I see that several airlines share terminal 8, do you know if all the staff in the baggage area for these airlines are aware that a golden coloured cat is still missing that was lost after being handed over for checking to American Airlines flight going to SFO..We are hoping that someone might have found, or seen him and have been at least feeding him until his owners are allowed in there to rescue him. Its been a month since he got lost in there,hopefully someone saw him, thank you.
