Best and most direct is by taxi; $45+tolls+tip. Cheapest is by AirTrain/subway $7.25 of which you have a few options; take AirTrain on track 1 from terminal to Howard Beach Station, transfer to inbound A subway to W. 4th St, transfer to Jamaica-bound F subway to 34th St, walk 4 blocks south to 30th St and one block east to 5th Ave, or take AirTrain to Jamaica Station, transfer to inbound E subway, at Forest Hills transfer to Bay Ridge-bound R subway to 28th St and walk two blocks north to 30th St.

Cheapest is $7.25 by AirTrain/subway: take AirTrain on track 1 from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to inbound E subway, at Roosevelt Ave/Jackson Hgts transfer to inbound #7 subway to 5th Ave./Bryant Park, walk east on 42nd St to Madison Ave, turn left to 45th St and then right to the hotel.

I am landing in JFK and wants to know how far it is to manhattan, how about Staten Island. I am looking for a hotel to stay less than $200/night. please give suggestions.
