Terminal 4 Facts and Figures
The $1.4 billion T4 opened in May 2001. It is the cornerstone of a $10.3 billion revitalization program currently underway at JFK.
T4 is a model for air terminal technology for the 21st century.
T4 has signed agreements with approximately 50 airlines representing 40 countries, serving U.S. and overseas destinations around the world.
T4 occupies 165 acres, one of the largest properties of any terminal at JFK and is one of the largest air terminals in North America.
T4 was designed with the infrastructure to process between 10 million - 12 million passengers annually.
T4 operates the only facility at JFK's with 24 hour Customs and Border Protection, 365 days per year.
T4 houses the only internal station for AirTrain, JFK's light rail system connecting all JFK terminals, Long Term parking, Car rental and hotel locations, The NYC subway at Howard Beach and the LIRR at Jamaica Station.
T4 is home to 4 religious chapels- Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Multi-faith, each with a dedicated Chaplain.

As long as your arriving flight is on time and customs isn't too busy you should be ok. Go to third floor of T4 to AirTrain and take train on track 1 to T7.
query for enough time between two flights
Hi,
I am coming from india going to Raleigh via NY. my airindia flight will reach there at 6 am and next AA flight is at 8 am. My cousin lives there and my aunt requested to hand over some items she wishes to send to her daughter. Will there be enough time for me to go out and hand over her the things and then check in back for next flight? If yes, pls give me some quick tips about this envisaged process.

I am flying into terminal 8 via AA at 9.20 and departing thru etihad airlines at 10.50 pm to abudhabi from terminal 4. Is there enough time to transfer between two terminals and catch the flight?

Yes you do have enough time as long as your first flight is on time and especially arriving on a domestic flight.

I will be arriving on Nov 20 at 6:00 am on air india in terminal 4 and I'd like to schedule a 9:30 flight with US airways from terminal 7. Would 3+ hours be enough time to get through customs and from one terminal to the other to make the connection?

Are there baggage carts in parking garage of Terminal 4?
It says that baggage carts are available at entrance and exit to/from terminal 4. So does that mean that they are not available in the parking garage blue parking of Terminal 4?
Which is better: go directly to parking, park and then put the luggage on the cart and get it to terminal OR drop of passenger with luggage at terminal, then go park, then come back?

Very straightforward way to do this would be to go to terminal 4 drop off your passenger and then park. Just before when you go inside you have airport carts.
