History - Construction of the airport began in 1942 with modest ambitions. Only 1,000 acres (4 km²) of land on the site of Idlewild golf course were earmarked for use. The golf course provided the airport's original namesake, Idlewild Airport. First commercial flights began on July 1, 1948. The airport was formally dedicated as New York International Airport on July 31, 1948. It was re-dedicated on December 24, 1963 as John F. Kennedy International Airport, following action of the Mayor and Council of the City of New York, and a resolution of the Commissioners of the Port Authority. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

forgotten US passport...
I am a US and Turkish passport holder and just travelled to Turkey for holiday. I made a HUGE ERROR and realized I do not have my US passport with me to return to the USA. I am wondering what I should do.
Will I be able to enter the US with my turkish passport and a copy of my American passport? Should I declare it lost and go to the Turkish consulate to apply for a new one here?

Arriving from India
I am Travelling from India to Washington, DC throught Air India (AI101)& Delta Airlines (DL6727). The flight from India reaches at 6:00 AM & the Delta flight is from Terminal 3 at 8:30 AM. This is my first visit to US.
Please tell me the procedure to be followed after alighting from Air India flight.
Whether, I have to collect my checked-in baggage & again book the same on Delta Or this will be done automatically. How to commute between terminals. Whether 2hours utes is sufficient time to comply with all procedure.

My husband and I just booked
My husband and I just booked a flight to Dublin for two weeks from now. I just realized that my passport has not been changed to my married name. My husband is having the tickets changed so that mine has my maiden name and will thus match my passport. Will this work? Or will it be a problem that other forms of identification, like my driver's license and SSN, are in my married name?

Tranferring thru JFK
Hi
I am arriving from Dublin into JFK on this Sunday and catching an onward flight to San Francisco. Both flights are with Delta airlines. I'm an irish citizen and have never travelled to the states before.
Can someone supply some information as to the procedure I can expect, for example do i need to go thru security and check in for my next flight and then go thru security again to get airside? I assume I don't need to collect my bags as Delta should put them onto the next plane for me????

My sister's flight from Sweden is landing at JFK at 3:50 pm and she have to be at Penn Station at 6:30 pm. Is that enough time to go through customs and take the Airtrain and Subway to Penn Station?
As long as her flight is on
As long as her flight is on time and she clears customs fairly quickly she should be ok. Recommend she takes LIRR from Jamaica to Penn Station, faster than subway.

I'll be in JFK in october and flying from Brazil in Delta Airlines (Terminal 3). My wife will fly in the same hour, but in TAM Airlines (Terminal 4). My question is: Where can i'll find her? This two terminals are connected, or i'll have to take a cab to meet her?

on the 8th of July , I am arriving at jfk airport at 17:35 from Pisa(Italy), and I need to take the connection to Denver(Colorado) at 19:30 , i am fliying with Delta Airlines. will I have enough time to catch the connection? and what are the procedures that i need to follow once I have landed?
