You can use two different types of parking at JFK airport:
Long-Term JFK Airport Parking
Located at Lefferts Blvd, 4 miles from CTA
AirTrain services link parking with the terminals.
Parking rates
$18 for up to 24 hours
$6 for each 8-hour period over first 24 hours
Daily JFK Airport Parking
Green parking - Terminals 1,2,3
Blue parking - Terminal 4
Yellow parking - Terminals 5 & 6
Orange parking - Terminal 7
Red - Terminals 8 & 9
Parking rates
$3 for the first half hour
$6 for up to 1 hour
$3 for each additional half hour, up to $33 maximum each 24-hour period
I'm departing on Jet Blue but returning on Virgin America 5 days later. Will the Lefferts Blvd long term parking work best?

Is there an extra charge for leaving your car in daily parking for more than a few days? Or does that not kick in until the 30th day? What if I left my car in daily parking for 10 days? Would the cost be as simple as $33x10=$330? thx!

Leaving your car there for as much as 10 days will be as simple as you did the math:)
I assume I can park my motorcycle in the daily lots... is the rate any less for a motorcycle than for a car??
We were stuck in line on in the Delta terminal 2 garage for over an hour. It was very dangerous with no guidance for merges especially at the end booths. We were nearly hit multiple times. We were also charged an extra $6 because of the time spent sitting in 'traffic' in the garage.

It is very hard to get money back if you have not reacted at that time(for example asking to speak with a supervisor, or file a complaint).

Is it possible to leave your car in short term parking for a period longer than 24 hours (48 hours)? I have a family member who is traveling with several children and would like to avoid taking all of them on the airtran or shuttle from long term parking. Is it possible to park and then return to your car 48 hours later in short term parking?
