JFK Airport Parking Information
You can use two different types of parking at JFK airport:
Long-Term JFK Airport Parking
Located at Lefferts Blvd, 4 miles from CTA
AirTrain services link parking with the terminals.
Parking rates
$18 for up to 24 hours
$6 for each 8-hour period over first 24 hours
Daily JFK Airport Parking
Green parking - Terminals 1,2,3
Blue parking - Terminal 4
Yellow parking - Terminals 5 & 6
Orange parking - Terminal 7
Red - Terminals 8 & 9
Parking rates
$3 for the first half hour
$6 for up to 1 hour
$3 for each additional half hour, up to $33 maximum each 24-hour period

Short Term parking?
I'm leaving through Delta on thursday night and returning the following Tuesday mid-day. would I have to park in short-term or long term parking?
You can park in either
You can park in either location, just remember that short term is more expensive at $33/day than long term at $18/day, but you can walk from short term parking to terminal. You can take AirTrain from long term to all terminals.

Hi. I'm flying to Minneapolis on Monday and returning Wednesday night on Sun Country Airlines. Is it possible to leave my car in short term parking while I'm gone? I know it will be costly but I just want to make sure it's ok with the parking regulations and what not.

Yes, you can do that. You can leave a car up to one month at short term parking lot.

If you have handicap placard you can park in the yellow lot for T5 at the long term rate of $18 per day. No discount if you park in long term lot. No reservations.
PArking Rates
Im leaving next week from American air. I have a permanent disability plaque (Not blue handicap hanging one from mirror). What is the best way to park, looking for cheapest way even if i need to take airtram as my travel partner will be with me.Called a JFK employee today and she said I will get a 50% discount off total , is this correct and if so is it at all parking lots ?

You will not get a discount at the long term parking lot so there is no sense of parking there(and taking Airtrain after that).
The discount you will get is at the short term parking lot(Red parking lot) for AA. You will pay $18/day(versus $33/day for parking) as a person with disability.
Furthermore, the Red parking lot is located right across Terminal 8 and there is no need to take transportation.
