1. Not the 7-Day Unlimited Card, only the pay-per-ride card which you can add to. I believe there is a newsstand in T4 that sells Metrocards, otherwise you can purchase when you exit AirTrain at Jamaica Station or Howard Beach.
2. You cannot use the 7-Day Card on AirTrain, only on bus or subway.
3. Cannot be used in New Jersey for NJ Transit, etc.

Hello! I'm hoping someone can help - this is very urgent. I am travelling to the US soon and I need to know how to get from JFK to Reading, PA, by bus. Can I go directly from the airport, or do I have to go into Manhatten to the Port Authority?

Also, how long will the journey take/how much will it be?

Any help would be most welcome!

Nothing direct; go to Port Authority Bus Terminal and take the Bieber Bus to Reading, cost from NY to Reading is about $18 and takes about 3 hours. NYAS express bus from terminal to PABT is $15.

Hi JFK Airport Team!
I'm getting on 09.June 2011 at 2pm in JFK from Italy and I have to go to State College PA in New Pennsylvania.
What is the cheapest and shortest way and transportation to get there without taking a plane???
Thank you in advance.

Greyhound Bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal is around $55 and takes about 7 hours. NYAS express bus from terminals to PABT is $15. Check www.greyhound.com for schedules.

whats the cheapest way to get from JFK to suny purchse university without breaking my pockets. Straving student

Use bus please.

Cheapest by far is by subway/Metro North rail. Take AirTrain ($5) from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to E subway ($2.25) to Lexington Ave/53rd St, transfer to downtown #6 subway for one stop to 42nd St/Grand Central, at Grand Central take the Metro North-Harlem Line train to White Plains ($7.75 off-peak, $10.50 peak) and then take the #12 Bee Line local bus from the Transit Center to Lincoln Ave/SUNY Purchase.

Can you tell me the cheapest (and maybe quickest) way to get from JFK to DC? I tried to find a direct connection but I guess there is none?
thx a lot!

Use NYC taxi please.

Cheapest is by Boltbus or Megabus from Penn Station, around $25 one way. Much cheaper than train but not as fast. Cheapest route to Penn Station is AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station and then E subway to Penn Station, total cost is $7.25. Buses are outside Penn Station at 7th Ave/33rd St. Amtrak will cost you minimum $45 depending on time of day you depart.

I need to get from Providence/ Warwick/ TF Green Airport to JFK. Is there a bus I can take that will get me there?

There's no direct service, however you can take Greyhound or other similar bus lines to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan and then NYAS express bus to JFK or E subway to Sutphin Blvd/JFK and AirTrain from there to terminals.

Dear all,
I have a wokshop to attend at the Lamont Doherty Observatory in Palisades. Is there a good (and cheap) way to travel from JFK to Palisades, NY? So far I found out that I could take the Airport Express Bus to Port Authority and then continue on route 9 (Rockland) to Palisades. Are there other (faster / more convenient) options? I was told a Limo was about 100$ (which is too expensive for me).
Thanks in advance,
Joe W.

Use taxi please.
