Four hours is plenty of time. If Qatar and United have baggage agreement and bags are tagged and they have boarding passes all the way to SFO they can take their bags to United connecting flights counter after customs, otherwise they will need to check in at T7. To travel from T4 to T7, go to AirTrain on 3rd floor of T4 and take any train on track 1 to T7.

Is it possible to take a train or bus from JFK into NYC and then take another train/bus to Newark airport?

Yes, take AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to LIRR to Penn Station, transfer to NJ Transit train to Newark Airport Station, transfer to AirTrain to terminals.

I'm flying into JFK for one overnight stay. I would like to get inot manhattan for a morning visting> I want to get the train but which one do I take and what stop would have get off the train.

P.S any tips for a half decent hotel close to airport to lay my haor down for night too would be a great help with breaking the bank.

Take AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to inbound E subway to 42nd St, Times Square area. Continue one stop to 34th St/Penn Station for Empire State Building, continue to end of E subway line for Ground Zero/WTC site. Return to Jamaica/AirTrain on the E subway, via LIRR from Penn Station or Far Rockaway-bound A subway to Howard Beach/AirTrain. See the hotel page on the site navigation section to the right.

I am arriving at JFK in the afternoon of the 14th, needed to go to 6th Ave and 50th. I have a large size luggage. What would be the best suggestion to get there? Also, what about suppershuttle service?

I am arriving at on the 16th at 16:30PM, terminal 4. Will be traveling with 3 (fairly big)luggage pieces and would like to take the Empire express at 7:45PM from Penn station. I have noticed that the route calls for walking at a couple of places.
Are there carts and elevators available at these walking junctions so that it would be convenient to self-transport the luggage all the way to the Empire express? Also is there help available for transporting luggage?

If you take a taxi or NY Airports bus you will have assistance to Penn Station and there are Amtrak baggage helpers at Penn Station to help you get on the train. Taxi is $45+tolls+tip and be sure to give the driver a nice tip if lots of help is provided, shuttle bus is $15. By public transportation; rent a luggage cart and take yourself and your luggage to AirTrain on the 3rd floor of T4 (by elevator) and take the Jamaica Station train on track 1, transfer to LIRR to Penn Station. You must leave the luggage cart when you exit AirTrain and there's no assistance available on LIRR, however the trains have overhead luggage racks.

hi, can you help. need to get from JFK - lower manhattan. what's the easiest route & any idea on time/cost? thanks.

Taxi is always easiest and most direct, $45+tolls+tip and takes about one hour. AirTrain/subway is $7.25 and takes a little over one hour; take AirTrain from terminal on track 1 to Howard Beach Station and transfer to the inbound A subway to Fulton St., which is central to Lower Manhattan.

Hi, can I use the Airtrain to get from Newark Airport to JFK Airport? How much I need to pay? Thanks a lot to you Guys.

Go to AirTrain station at your Newark Airport terminal, purchase ticket to Penn Station, $12.50 fare includes AirTrain fare, take AirTrain to Newark Airport Station, transfer to NJ Transit train to Penn Station, transfer to LIRR to Jamaica ($8.50 peak/$6.25 off peak), walk upstairs and take JFK AirTrain ($5) to all terminals.

Other than taxi, what's the best way to get to Wayne NJ from JFK? Thanks!

See below to get to Penn Station. At Penn Station take NJ Transit-Montclair/Boonton Line train to Wayne (may require a transfer at Newark-Broad St).

From JFK gates follow signs to"ground transportation". Near baggage area follow signs to "airtrain". They will take you up escalators and moving walkways. Get on air train to Jamaica (there are two voices that alternate:Jamaica or Howard Beach). At end of line (Jamaica) which is about 7 minute ride from Jetblue terminal 5/6, everyone departs. You pay $5 to exit. There are machines to buy a metro card. You want to get a combined card with a train ticket on the Long Island Railroad to Penn Station. there are every helpful Metro workers nearby the machines who will help you. Get you tickets (if you will be using subways in NYC, add $20 or so to your metro card), go through exit turnstiles and head straight ahead to LIRR. Trains to Penn Station leave about every 20 min. Cost about $7 from Jamaica to PennStation. Takes 25 min to arrive. pennStation is at 32nd st and 7th Ave. Madison Square Garden sits on top of it.

Have fun.
