Is there any way to transfer our luggage (without us going personally) from JFK to EWR and store it there until we arrive. We fly to JFK on Sunday and will be staying in NY until Tuesday, when we continue our trip from EWR. We do not need most of our luggage for our stay in NY.

We arrive from Lima (in august this year) at 8h30AM and we have next flight to Paris at 10PM. We would like to have a quick visit of NY city (first time there) and therefore anyone could tell me if with American Airlines is it possible to check in the luggage in the morning for the 10PM flight?
If not, we have to let the luggage in the storage (is it big enough? how many luggages for one day?).
