1. We fly from Moscow to Miami via New York (Delta, Terminal 3). In New York we have stop 20 hr. Can we register the luggage in Moscow to Miami to not get it in New York? 2. If we registered at Delta flight, how long before departure we can drop the baggage for the flight?
In reply to 1. We fly from Moscow to by Sergey P (not verified)
You will have to get it in
You will have to get it in NEW YORK anyway and pass through the customs with it. After that you put it back on the "continuing flights" belt and you don't need to take it with you to NYC.
In Moscow: Dont forget to ask to check the bags in all the way to Miami. Double check on the tag - it shoudl say "SVO-MIA".

Mis-information on web site
My husband and I recently had our flight plan changed by American Airways, this meant a 7 hour connection at JFK, instead of a 45 minute connection at Chicago. As a result of information on this site, we bought tickets for the Empire State Building, and planned to leave our luggage in storage at Terminal 8, catch a cab into New York City, and do something constructive with our 7 hour wait. There is NO baggage storage facility in Terminal 8!! So, tickets for ESB wasted, and 7 hours spent sitting at JFK....mind numbing, especially when waiting for an overnight flight to the UK. Please update your website!
