security guards at Delta terminal are thieves
Unbelievable that security at an international airport is who you have to be scared of. I was at the Delta terminal 6 months ago when my bag filled with papers was stolen, when I went to security one guy pulled me aside and said If i pay give him $50 he's get my bag back. RIDICULOUS...IT GETS WORSE. I was at the Delta terminal today, and the same thing happened. The bag which this time looked like a laptop case was stolen right from by my feet. Definitely not a coincidence!!!

Probably a stupid question....but is there any chance of laptops being erased when they go through scanning machines?

They have a seperate scanner
They have a seperate scanner for senitive equipment like that. I know when i brought a camera when i was in florida they put it threw a seperate scanner as to not to ruin the film

Computers do not get erased. the scaners just check if the computer is a bomb or somthin, but other wise ur 100% safe. ;)

I have about 12 hours between flights and want to go into Manhattan. Is it possible to leave the airport having checked bags thru from Lima to London? Or do I have to collect cases and leave in Luggage Services? Thanks!!
