ICAO code - KJFK

Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

The airport was formally dedicated as New York International Airport on July 31, 1948. It was re-dedicated on December 24, 1963 as John F. Kennedy International Airport, following action of the Mayor and Council of the City of New York, and a resolution of the Commissioners of the Port Authority. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

Hi. My brother will arrive at 9pm from overseas and he has a overnight layover. I am told by Jetblue that he will not be able to check in until 3am. Can he wait in Terminal 5 about 4 hours (11pm-3am) before check-in?

My parents arrived from Israel yesterday afternoon and have been stranded at JFK (I believe in terminal 5 near gate 26) for 17 hours now. At what airport store can they purchase a prepaid cell phone? At what airport kiosk can they purchase kosher food? Thanks!

I need to know which terminal its supposed to arrive Flight 6402 from Havana, Cuba on Saturday 6/18/11. Thank you in advance.

What airline?

That would be Vision Airlines - most likely it would be Terminal 4 - it is a seasonal airline and last year was operating in/out of T4 at JFK.

I am arriving at JFK from London and have approximately 4 hours until my next flight from LGA. Will I have to recheck in my luggage since it is two different airports?

Yes.

Hi,

I'm arriving terminal 4 tomorrow from overseas and then have a 5 hour layover departing terminal 8 to YYZ. Will I need to transfer my luggage myself? Will I need to pass security and customs again? The second flight is a codeshare flight with my original airline....

Thanks :)

I'm flying from Düsseldorf to JFK on Air Berlin on a Thursday afternoon, arriving at JFK at 15:50. My next flight (different airline, different ticket) is with US Airways from JFK to Charlotte at 18:15. Is 2.5 hours enough time to clear customs and get to the US Airways terminal? I'm a US citizen and I'm not checking any bags. Your advice will be much appreciated!

Can someone please assist: i need to post a parcel to San Francisco upon my arrival at JFK as I connecting immediately to Vancouver & dont want to lug this around-is there a parcel post counter?

I am arriving from UK @ 4:40 and the next flight on Jet Blue to Orlando is 6:55. Is there enough time? What's the distance in the airport from International to JetBlue? My husband cannot walk fast and he WON'T take help from a trolly or anything like that.

It's close but if your arrival is on-time you should be able to make it. After you exit customs go to the third floor of T4 and take any AirTrain on track 1 one stop to Jet Blue-T5, only takes a minute and this is the best way to move between terminals.

Our international flight comes into JFK at 3:50pm. Our next flight is out of Newark at 7:50pm. How do I get from JFK to Newark? Is 4 hours enough time to get through customs and still get to Newark in time? Can someone help me? I would hate to lose the total value of these tickets.

You need to allow at least one hour to clear customs and 1.5 hours (or more as you will be in the middle of evening rush hour) to travel from JFK to EWR. There is scheduled shuttle service (State Shuttle) between airports but taxi may be your fastest route.

Thank you for your help. I will check it out. Can I pretty well assume there are always taxis available? Or is that another worry?
