John F. Kennedy International Airport is an international airport located in Jamaica, Queens, southeast of New York City.
IATA code - JFK
ICAO code - KJFK
Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

History - Construction of the airport began in 1942 with modest ambitions. Only 1,000 acres (4 km²) of land on the site of Idlewild golf course were earmarked for use. The golf course provided the airport's original namesake, Idlewild Airport. First commercial flights began on July 1, 1948. The airport was formally dedicated as New York International Airport on July 31, 1948. It was re-dedicated on December 24, 1963 as John F. Kennedy International Airport, following action of the Mayor and Council of the City of New York, and a resolution of the Commissioners of the Port Authority. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.
I'm connecting from United airlines terminal 7 to Emirates Airlines Terminal 4 at JFK. How much time should I allow. Also, on the return I have to go through customs, how much time do you think I should allow to go from Terminal 4 to 7 and through customs as well?
Thank you.
Usually 2 hours time is good when you transfer from domestic flight at JFK. Minimum three hours is the time that I would recommend for transferring from international flight.
Hi, I will arrive at JFK from Tel Aviv, and I want to flight to Washington DC immediately after my arrive. I don't have a reservation because I'm not sure if I will arrive on time from Tel Aviv. I would like to know the best way to get a flight to Dulles Airport and where can I buy a ticket for this flight
Thank you
You should do this online at least a week in advance to get lower fares. Delta has three daily flights to Washington-Dulles (mid-morning, mid-afternoon and evening) and United has four daily flights. As an alternative Delta has daily six daily flights to Wash-Reagan National.
i will arrive in turkish airline at 2:45 and my
conection flight depart at 4:30 usairway can
you please tell me if i have enough time to do my
conection.thank you
I am in a wheelchair and will be having someone pick me up at the airport. They have a cell phone and can park in the cell phone lot, but I don't have one. Would someone at the airport call them to tell them I'm ready to be picked up?
dear ladies and gentlemen
while staying in your country for about 2 month, we spent a lot of money and taxes by shopping. as on our return home, we´ll have to declare our goods we´ll have to pay taxes one more time. that´s why i´d like to know, where i can get back the taxes i paid? thank you for your answer!
kind regards
danielle
Unfortunately this can not be done in USA.There used to be a practice of returning the taxes many years ago but not anymore.
I will be at JFK at 6:30 AM. Could you please advise the best and cheapest way to go "3317 Greenpoint Avenue, Long Island City, New York, 11101-2011, US"
Cheapest is by Airtrain/subway/bus: take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station, take E subway to Jackson Hts/Roosevelt Ave., transfer to the Manhattan-bound #7 subway (NOT the #7 "diamond" express, it will bypass local stations) and get off at 46th/Bliss St. From there take the Greenpoint-bound B24 (runs along Greenpoint Ave.) bus to your destination. Taxi will cost you about $40 but is faster.
I'm arriving on a domestic flight but would like to meet a friend coming on an international flight. Is it possibile for me to meet my friend in the international baggage claim area?
Attn. Ms./Mr.,
Warm greetings in the very Precious Name of our Dear Lord Jesus...
Actually I'm so so nervous and mad of what has happened with my bag on Delta Airlines..
I came on Delta Flight No.DL140 from Boston to New York JFK on 21st of July 2010 with Ticket No. 24808377183 . I was one of a group of my sisters with their families, at the beginning we reported not receiving 5 bags, then found four of them and left one LOST with Tag # 2K709869 in the name of Mr. Soliman. We have reported that at the Airport but in vain no answers, then we have reported again on file No. Ref#LGADL62631 and up till the moment I haven't heard one word from any one from Delta Airlines.... Then I had to buy everything starting from clothes up till even underwears because I'm staying one month in USA....
Which is shocking me because a friend of mine has lost her bag last month on Egypt Air coming from Bulgaria to Egypt, and after she has reported that, she claimed her bag after 24 hours...
I urgently need my bag, knowing that their was in it my jewleries (Gold & silver) and sentimental staff also gifts to all my friends in the STATES, and the most important all my medications knowing that I'm rhewmatoid patient ...
I thought maybe it's lost at JFK Airport ...
I do need an urgent and quick reply PLEASE...
Thanks in advanced for all your care & support ... Looking forward for your reply...
Best regards,
Dr. Miranda Ouida
You state that you arrived at JFK but the reference number is LGADL62631(which refers to La Guardia airport). Something is not right...Double check your info.
