After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

I had a package come into Customs on the 19th...when can i expect my package to be clear of customs and en route to me?

I am arriving on Emirates 203 ETA 745 AM on 24th March.
Since I have very important meetings scheduled on that day, wanted to know if the flights are arriving on time and what average delay should I expect. The news is reporting that flights are delayed because of the runway closure. If the problem and trend is that there are significant delays in March I will change my booking. Thanks

Generally, you should expect slight delays because of that. Given the time of the day you will arrive , I don't think it would be that significant.

I have to get through customs from London (arriving at JFK) at around 1 in the afternoon on a Wednesday and then get to LGA. We have 3 hours and 45 minutes between flights. Is this enough time? Thanks!

You have plenty of time. A cab ride from JFK to LGA will take no more than 30 min(depends on the traffic conditions). There is also a bus (New York Airport Service ) that leaves in front of each terminal every half hour to LGA.

Is there any place at the airport to buy an pre-paid sim card. I'm arriving from Canada with an unlocked Blackberry and I need to purchase one asap. Thanks

The only one place that might sell them at JFK is the Hotel Reservation desk.

Hello:

I am a nervous flier and I was recommended to take a tour of the airport. Where do I call for this? I was also recommended to see a cockpit, with all the things going on now days, is this possible?

thanks,

Abby

a friend is flying in from Oregon. I'm flying in from Dulles in Washington, DC. We want to go to Manhattan (8 hour layover before international flight)

Can we take the A subway from JFK?
We are both flying Delta/Northwest - what is a good meeting place?

thanks!

Good place to meet is at Terminal 4, Airtrain station. It has a seating places and it is not big.
From there take Airtrain on the track 1 to Howard Beach Station. At HB Station you can take subway line A towards Manhattan.

My flight along with everyone elses was canceled yesteday at the jfk jetblue terminal. I was supposed to fly to buffalo and had checked-in one bag, but I found a ride in the morning to buffalo since they told me my check-in luggage would be brought there anyway. I can not contact the baggage claim center at jfk or buffalo international airport does anyone know where else i could call or if they had a similar problem resolved what happened?

Last night my flight was canceled along with everyone elses at JFK and there was an announcement that although we couldn't retrieve our baggage at that time we could come back Sunday morning to get it. I have since booked a new flight for Monday evening and would like to not come back to get my bag today and just have it put on my flight tomorrow. Is this possible or do I have to come back all the way out to the airport to get my bag and then bring it back for my next flight? Also I've been trying to call the baggage service number (347-545-3900) for over an hour without talking to anyone or even being able to leave a message.

I did recognize that the airline is Jet Blue, correct?
Then the right phone number is 347-545-3920. Give them a call, they should be able to answer your questions.
