Delayed Baggage
When you notify one of our representatives that your bags are delayed, you will receive a file reference number. Please keep this number, as you will need to refer back to it when initiating claims or inquiries about your property. You may be eligible for a bag fee rebate if your first or second paid checked bag(s) have been delayed for more than 12 hours after being reported to a baggage service agent/office.
To check the status of your bag, enter your last name and your 10-digit file reference number, located on the Property Irregularity Report provided by our Representative.

Expense Reimbursement
Delta requires that receipts be presented for all reasonable expense reimbursements incurred due to the delay of a passenger’s bag. Reasonable expenses generally are $50 for the first 24hrs and $25 per day for the next 4 days the bag is delayed. The guidelines for reasonable expenses are NOT daily limits or a cap and additional expenses may be incurred and should be handled on an individual basis up to the limit of liability. Any disbursements will be deducted from the final settlement if the bag is not located. Please note, if your bag is still missing, you must fill out the passenger property claim form under lost baggage at www.delta.com/bagclaim. The following form is only for the reimbursement of incidental expenses incurred while your bag was delayed. Please print this form and submit with your receipts for consideration of reimbursement.
