I completely agree about the, "Not being open until you are ready," part. A group of people from my flight, that flew in from Morocco, waited for our luggage for over 24 hours. Still unsure if they received it, but it is complete nonsense when almost the entire staff of the airport would not help us or provide accurate information. The most ridiculous part is that almost everyone from the flight received their luggage (in a very untimely fashion.. within 6-8 hours) except a good sized group of us! The staff was very rude and the airport was not very providing. They didn't provide food to the terminal area where parents were waiting for their luggage with hungry children. I really worried about the kids, and the people with health problems. Many people missed their connecting flights and were promised that their luggage would be mailed to them. But there has been no sign of luggage yet for many of us, probably because they are soooooo backed up with luggage! One woman waited in NY for 2 weeks for her luggage!!! The airport was very disorganized and under staffed. With an economy that has so many people who need employment, I cannot understand it.
Many of us will NEVER fly into JFK again or fly with Royal Air Maroc. When other flights after you receive their luggage again and again but you do not receive yours when you have been waiting over 14 hours, something is definitely wrong! Don't keep telling us it is just the weather!
