I had a similar experience today. I recommend calling constantly, and locking in a backup plan if you can. My airline is Jet Blue, and I could get home Thurs by buying a new ticket, or next Monday by letting Jet Blue rebook me. God love 'em, I'll take their refund and get myself home. With so many displaced travelers, don't be surprised if your NY stay is extended until the weekend.
