I'll be arriving at LaGuardia (LGA) at 8 am and need to catch a flight at JFK at 7 pm on the same day. I'd like to store my luggage and get out to see a bit of NY while waiting for my connection flight.

Please advise:
1) Is it the best option to store my luggage at Terminal 4 at JFK or is it a nearer place near LGA?
2) If I store luggage at JFK, which is the quickest way to get to JFK from LGA?
3) From JFK how should I go by public transport to Manhattan?
4) From Downtown Manhattan back to JFK to catch the flight at 7 pm, how should I go by public transport and how long would it take?
