My wife was returning to NY from Bangkok
(British Airways flight 117 from
Heathrow, arrived at terminal 7 around
11:40 on Saturday, July 17, 2010).
Her cell phone battery was dead and when
she asked the airport security officer
for assistance, he let her use her cell
phone and charged her $5.
Is that customary?
If it is not, is there somewhere that I can
refer this to?
He could have directed her to a public phone,
but it looks like this was a business "on the
side."
Is it customary for security to charge $5 to assist a passenger?
