We're going to be picking up a relative from Europe in a few weeks, she is a minor and doesn't speak English well. I called the airlines to ask if we could get a pass to meet her at the gate but they said that was impossible, no one is allowed through security without a ticket. In the past, at least on domestic flights, I've always been able to get a special pass to get through security when picking up a child. Have the rules changes, is this just because it's an international flight or did the guy on the phone get it wrong?
