Last Sunday 2/17, I was heading back from a trip to Israel that I had been on for 3 weeks, give or take. Unfortunately, I had a stop over at JFK, where I had to board a Jetblue flight back to Florida. Well, I was tired- exhausted from the trip, and I didn't feel like carrying anything on the plane, so I checked my luggage. I had two large suitcases, so inside the largest I put my laptop bag, which contained my Macbook, and assorted cables and headphones, and then locked it all up with my TSA aproved locks. Well, when I arrived in Florida my locks were missing, and my laptop gone, with a nice note from TSA advising me that they had searched my luggage in the name of safety.
I searched the airport to find the Jetblue offices, just looking for advice and direction, and all I got was a disproportionate level of attitude and defensiveness. I swear it was right out of Hamlet. They 'made a note of it in their computer systems', and gave me the number for TSA. I've called the lost and found at JFK (trying to give the benefit of the doubt) probably 200 times, to get an actual person once, who *wait for it* ... hung up on me. I've filed a claim with TSA which, after reading about the process on their website, seems like the most convoluted and redundant process imaginable (who would of though our government agencies would be so backwards *cough*). So, I guess at this point it's just a waiting game.
Good luck with everything! I looked and found this phone number to Jetblue for you:
Jet Blue
11829 Queens Blvd
Forest Hills, NY 11375 Map
(716) 630-0505
It should be the number for their corporate office.
I feel your pain...
