Some terminals are closed,but terminal 4 is open. The airtran is not working. So you can come to terminal 4 and wait until the airport opens and then hop on airtran and get wherever you need to.
hi my flight on virgin america from jfk to las vegas is showing canceled. airport will open on 4 pm. so now what to do? should i stay at home until 4pm? do you think virgin america will schedule another flight today and how to get the ticket?

I am scheduled for 12:40pm today, riding Korean airlines. On websites it was on schedule so i called up and they said there is 2 hr delay. It made no sense so i talked with the person for a while telling her that airport is closed but she seemed to have no idea what is goin on there. So she gave me number for their counter in JFK. Called up and they said since the airport is closed there wont be any flt til4 but they do not know anything for sure yet. My plane has to come in the airport first for passengers to ride and they will get update on this by noon hopefully. i will call up at noon and post any updates. What more concerns to me however is: How to get to the airport!! Riding the bus seems to be the only option, any comments on this subject?
I had a same situation with you. My flight is going to korea too. I called them many times this morning but their answers were unclear. Right now the flight is 0:00 midnight estimatedly. I don"t know how to get there at that time. Are there cabs running there?
The airline said the plane will leave today but there are no buses going to JFK. It seems taxis are noy willing to go as well.
