Hi!
My wife, my two kids and I will be arriving in T8 from London 9:30 PM and departing to Bridgetown from T8 the next day at 8:00 AM.
Would it be possible to find a nearby place (a motel et.) to stay overnight?
Will it give us problems with customs if the motel is outside the airport area?
Regards!
I cant give you the information about the motels but you can try googling them on-line. However, terminal 4 is the only terminal that is open 24/7 at JFK airport where you can get something to eat and relax overnight. You can get an air train on the third floor to get there in minutes from terminal 8 to terminal 4.
I´ll fly from London to Jfk on Friday 17th December, arrive at 22.45 and my connection flight departure to Montego bay will be at 8.40 on Saturday 18th.
I wonder if there are so called silent room at terminal 8 (or 7) where i could spent that 10 hours between my flights? Or what is the best place to stay or safe place
maybe to take sleep?
I´ll really appreciate your advice!
You can spent some time in the bathroom all by yourself until your next flight
Can anyone here help me please? I have a IBS Syndrome and need to know where the closest bathroom is in terminal 4 since I will be arriving from Johannesburg via South African Airways. I will need to go to the bathroom quickly after the arrival.
Take a right after the arrival at the terminal 4 and the bathrooms should be on your right hand side.
Only terminal that is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week is terminal 4. At that terminal you can get something to eat and sit there. You can get from terminal 8 to 4 and vice versa on an air train in minutes. That is one of the safest terminals to sleep.
Hello I will arrive sunday at Terminal 8 at 1310 from italy with american airlines. Then i have another flight with american airlines to cancun, mexico at 18.15.
I have a meeting with some collegues who lives in NY who are coming to the airport to meet me.
Is there a place close to terminal 8 where people without ticket can come? Where is it?
Do you think that I will have another time if I have to go out and in again?
thanks
Yes you can wait in the terminal lobby with your friends without the ticket.
HI i'm arriving at JFK at terminal 8 from LAX and I need to take a connection from terminal 4 , I have a bout 1hour and 30minutes to do this, Will I run out of time and please be kind enough to tell me how I could get from terminal 8 to four and how long it would take me to do that
When you arrive from LAX at T8 follow signs to AirTrain and take train on track 2 from T8 to T4, only takes a few minutes.
I will be taking a AA 896 flight from Port-au-Prince (Haiti) to JFK, arriving in Terminal 8 at 1935 hrs. I will need to take a KL 644 flight to Amsterdam from Terminal 4 at 2210 hrs. I will have two big suitcases and two small suitcases. Will the time (2 hrs 35 minutes,if the AA flight arrives on time) sufficient to collect baggages, clear customs, go to the terminal 4 by a cab, check-in and take the KL 644 flight?
Re: Anil R, my experience w/ JFK (which is extensive - I've travel around the world 10x from there, so here's what I can share:
1) You should not have to go through customs if you are flying on. Typically, your bags should have been forwarded through, unless you instructed them otherwise (or if that's a new policy), Regardless, you should be able to get off the plane in about 15 minutes, unless there's weather or air traffic, and you have to 'stay in the pattern' which is fairly frequent. But once you are at the gate, after deplaning, you walk about 1/2 mile to customs, and queue (which could be fast, say 5-15 minutes, or slow - I once had to wait 45 minutes.
2) You then go to baggage claim (make sure you know which one - this can get confusing, but they have digital signs working most of the time, so If you don't see it within 3 minutes, ask! Then, getting you bag is usually pretty fast, say 10 minutes, up to never if they lost it (then you have to go to Lost Luggage..); But a typical LONG wait is 30-60 min.
3) walk to the first outside lane where buses stop, and hop on any blue bus (the parking lot buses work, as well as hotel shuttles usually) and make sure they will stop at Terminal 8. The parking lot buses should be stopping at every terminal, and these buses (long. blue buses saying "Lot C" for going to the long term parking lot Have to stop at every terminal, so you usually see one of these every 5-10 minutes stopping (they're free - hotel shuttlrd too, . To get from T4 to T8 is about 20 minutes (5 minutes per T-stop). If you have to bring your luggage, you stand in the security line, which will take 15-30 minutes.
4) This is if the Gods are with you and no problems arise, So the BEST time from getting off plane 1 to boarding plane 2 is going to be 2 hours. Murphy's law says you may run into a snag, so just be prepared to deal with it. Trying to take a taxi from T4 to T8 will be a ripoff, even though the signs say otherwise.
I hope this helps, and that the gods of travel keep Murphy at bay; If you can "check your bags through on to Amsterdam" then by ALL MEANS DO SO!
And please, some the best Hawaiian or Thai stick you can find. I want to go, just so I can be stoned in peace for a day or two.
Happy Holidays!
