JFK Airport AirTrain

 JFK AirTrain is the automated, elevated people mover system that operates between JFK International Airport, Long Island Rail Road trains and New York City Subway.
It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.

AirTrain Routes

  • Howard Beach route

The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.

Q11 bus Runs along Cross Bay Blvd,  Q21, Q53 SBS, Q52 SBS – Serve the Cross Bay Blvd corridor

  • Jamaica Station route

The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn and Manhattan or Queens).

Connecting transit services:

 E, J and Z subway trains
 Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q25/Q34, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q60  and Q65 buses.

  • Airline Terminal route (free)

The Airline Terminal route connects JFK terminals, hotel shuttles, parking areas and rental car facilities.


All JFK AirTrain stations are wheelchair accessible. Howard Beach subway and Jamaica Long Island Railroad stations are wheelchair accessible too.

AirTrain runs 24/7

  • Depending on route/time of day - trains run every 7–15 minutes,
  • depending on time of day and route.

No discounts for multiple rides. When you arrive at Airtrain at either Jamaica or Howard Beach, or when you depart Airtrain at either location you can purchase a Metrocard from one of the self-service machines, put as much as you want on it and use the Metrocard to pay your Airtrain fare ech time.

Hi! I'm arriving on Oct. 8, 8:20PM at JFK airport. How do I get to Broadway Avenue along 96th street?

Taxi is flat rate $45+tolls+tip to anywhere in Manhattan. You can also take public transportation ($7.25); Airtrain to Howard Beach Station, Manhattan-bound A subway to 59th St., tranfer to the uptown/Bronx bound 1, 2 or 3 subway to 96th St. (at Broadway).

By public transportation ($7.25) take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station, take E subway a few stops to Kew Gardens, transfer to the F subway to 34th St./Herald Square. You will be at 6th Ave., walk south and then bear left onto Broadway to 31st St. and turn left.

I am coming to in to JFK and need to geet to the PATH. What is the cheapest way to do this?

hi ,i am coming from atlanta to jfk on sept 14th at 12 pm with delta airlines to terminal 3. and then at 4.50pm i have another flight with the delta again to turkey.i have to take my luggage in terminal 3 ,and than i will have check in again to turkey right ?because my turkey ticket is not the same ticket as from atlanta to jfk ..I think its not gonna be so difficult coz it is on the same terminal.right ?

Need long term parking, 6pm week night flight on Jet Blue, then returning about 5am on a Sunday morning. How safe is the airport long term parking, and how long will it take to get to Jet Blue terminal from the parking area.

We will arrive at terminal 4 and need to go to the Theater district 47th with 8th Avenue by taxi or public transportation. What would be the cost and approx. time?

I will be arriving at JFK at 7.10 AM. How much time will it take to reach the domestic terminal of JetBlue and clear the security after landing.I have a domestic flight from JFK to Boston at 9.45 AM ? Can I still make it safely ?
