Arrivals Baggage Claim
Hello,
I'm arriving in JFK from Spain on Friday. And I have a question. My mom said it's possible for my family to meet me in the baggage claim area. Is that true?
I would love to have my dad help me get my luggage off the carousel. But I feel like my mom is wrong. I thought that I have to get my luggage myself from baggage claim and go through customs before my family can meet me.
So am I right or is my mom right?

Morning,
My mom is flying in from Australia by way of LA on Qantas, and I'm due to pick her up at terminal 7.
3 Questions:
My understanding is I won't be allowed to meet her until after she's gone through customs/immigration and picked up her luggage.
1) Is there a spot where I can meet her? We're just afraid if there are multiple exits I may not find her. This is her first time traveling to the states alone.
2) As a failsafe, is there a spot I can tell her to meet me at the terminal?
3) She's due to land at 5PM. What time should I expect her to come out after customs/immigration and baggage so I know when to arrive to pick her up?

Hi there. So anxious. Have not travelled for over seven years and I'd like to know I can get to terminal 7 from 8 without exiting the building. I had a bad experience when I changed flight from japan airline to American airline; I had to grab a taxi outside and almost gotten frostbite in a -8 degree weather. I only had a flimsy sweater.
