Terminal 8 is connected to the JFK AirTrain system. AirTrain links the passenger terminals with parking areas, Federal Circle, hotel shuttles, rental cars and public transportation.

Missing my passport
i arrive from chile on LA 532, climb to the 3rd floor , when get to security control i put my passport into my backpack for security, then i pass the security of jfk airport and get into the american airlines section without problems at terminal 8, then i bought a coffee in starbucks and goes to the bathroom. the time was close to the departure of my flight number AA1443 destination boston. I remember that have seat in the first line just in front to the gate number 3, open my back pack to have a pill. Then call for speakers to the group number 3 and get up, then in the line i see my pocket open but dont remember if the passport was ther because the flight attendance say in speakers that the passport wasnt necesary. So i close my bag and take the plane. When arrive to the Hotel Wyndham Andover to make my chek inn i didnt found my passport.

Lost Ring
Hey i tried calling several times now and wrote emails and everything, but I didn't get a response once.. I lost my ring I had just got from my grandparents for graduation. I was in the bathroom at terminal 8 near the Victoria secret next to the bookshop. I hope somebody was trustful enough to bring it to the list and found station.
It is golden and has 3 red stones on it. Besides there is one little diamond to the right of the 3 stones and on is to the right.
Please let me know if anything was brought to you! I am so sad that I was so stupid to even leave it on the bathroom counter.

security entrance policy
US Airlines check-in desk reps today informed me that passengers are permitted to enter same day as the flight. Because me and three other passengers did not make their stated gate time, they moved our ticket to the next available flight which is a next day 630am departure and told to be in by 5am.
However when I asked the security attendant, she and her manager, Pauline Herman, head of terminal 8 security, informed me I was not permitted to enter until 3 hrs prior to flight departure. When asked if this was written for customers to see I was told no and then she walked away from me. I had to ask her for her name.
If JFK and the airline companies want to stay in business in this troubled econonmy, its customers ought to be treated professionally, knowledgeably and respectably by well trained managers and business representatives.
I was not provided with a hotel option nor voucher just "this is all we can do..."
I guess my wife and two young kids will be worried that daddy is ok.
I do expect JFK and US Airlines operate by a higher standard so they don't lose more business.

I will be arriving at JFK T8 next Thursday lunchtime from LHR, and have a 2 hour window until my connecting flight leaves for Costa Rica also from T8. Both flights on American Airlines. Overnight at JFK
Hi.
I am due to arrive at JFK at 10.00pm on Friday night and have a connecting flight to Miami at 5.45am on Saturday morning. Both flight are American Airlines so likely to be terminal 8. Would prefer to just hang around the airport. What is it like for staying overnight at the terminal. Are there likely to be any eateries/shops open all night? Would it be better to wait at another terminal instead of 8?
