My family is flying with out two dogs from Tanzania relocating back to CO with US passports. We plan to spend the night in NYC before proceding to CO the next evening. I understand that there is a kennel in the airport where I can leave my dogs overnight. What is the procedure for clearing the dogs through customs and getting them to the kennel? Are there also places to store excess baggage overnight at the airport?

I have a 2hrs 20mins layover to transfer from an AA flight from Toronto to JFK arriving terminal 8 and need to get to terminal 3 to catch the SAA flight to South Africa. No checkin baggage. Is 2.20 hours sufficent to transfer from terminal 8 to 3?
